- "How will my social life change?" It's hard to hang out with my friends during the day when I have 2 school age kids with me...while my friends kids are in school.
- "What are we going to do all day?" This is kind of silly because we have been hanging out for the last couple of weeks and the days have flown. (I think that that is a picture of our culture. I mean, "they" are the who& what & why that I am to be about.)
- "Is everyone going to think that we are weird because we started homeschooling.

Fears...things i can't run away from.
I had to drive to Dallas today for a Dr.'s appointment. All the way over there and back...I kept thinking about how every fear that I had nothing to do with the girls. All of my fears were just that- MINE. About Me.

It's going to be a big change for all of you, that's for sure. You'll have to make time for yourself. You'll need it to keep yourself from getting run down. Make time every single day for something that you enjoy doing without the girls. It's also a time for Greg to hang out with the kids.
I have heard from homeschooling moms that if you take a typical school day, say 7 or 8 hours, and take away the time from 'group' bathroom breaks, disciplining a large group of kids (my last class that I taught had 4 kids w/ADD, one with Down's, and one who was borderline autistic, in a class of 26), and time spent moving from room to room (for music, computers, gym, whatever) plus get silly school assemblies, announcements, and fundraising crap cut out of the day, the actual amount of teaching "lessons" is only 4 or 5 hours a day (but that included lunch and 2 recesses, too). And if you think about the broad range of topics you'll be covering, they can be done anywhere, and with anyone present.
Often times your friends can help you get a lesson taught, not just be a distraction to YOU.
Believe it or not, homeschooling can benefit parents, too!
Hey, we might think you're weird, but it's not because you're homeschooling.
And I was afraid to HAVE kids, because what if I forgot to feed them or something?
